We are a group of caring volunteers who are dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all animals. We work to promote cruelty-free household and personal products, to protect the environment and speak out against all forms of animal abuse.
Our current priorities are focused on hands-on work for animals, public education, and legislation. You may have joined us at one or more of our many events and/or written letters or made phone calls to support our legislative efforts.
GMAD's successes include a ban in Burlington on circuses that use exotic animals such as tigers and elephants. We are proud to have helped establish student animal protection organizations at both the University of Vermont and St. Michael's College.
GMAD's focus on the prevention of unwanted litters by promoting the spaying/neutering of dogs and cats has helped ease the serious problem of homeless animals.
This is just a sampling of the types of positive actions for animals that are made possible by your support!
How You Can Help: Donate to GMAD! A donation of any size would be greatly appreciated and it would make a world of difference to the animals, so PLEASE send yours today!
PLEASE NOTE: GMAD has no paid employees. The directors volunteer from their homes. This means that more of your contributions go directly to helping animals since there are very low administrative costs. GMAD's office/storage space on Church Street is very reasonable thanks to our friends at the Peace and Justice Center.
